Measurement and Modeling of Low Self Noise of Seismometer

Abstract: A method based on relative sensing parameters for measuring and modeling of low self noise of seismometer with a few days of continuous record data is proposed in this paper. It is proved theoretically and practically that the stable, reliable, objective low self noise of seismometer can be gotten by the method. The reliable, stable parameters for description of low self noise of seismometer will be gotten by modeling and parameterization. These parameters are helpful for assessment of the instruments. As example, the models of 4 kinds of home-made seismometers are given in the last part of the paper.
