Abstract: In this paper, a correspondence relationship between the“creep” anomalies of level of Shuangqiao well and seismic activity is comprehensively and systematically analysed, and it is considered that there is not close relation between the level anomalies and earthquakes. Possible causes leading to these anomalies are studied from various angles, and it is believed that they are related with that highly mineralized water seeps into the well from evaporating ponds of salt water above ground or shallow aquifer under ground, because of ageing, corroding and cracking of the well pipes.
