Abstract: Based on the observation theory of ground resistivity, it is pointed out that the relationship between the earth resistivity and the water level is determined by the electrical structure of ground resistivity field, rock saturation, as well as the porosity. By the long-term observation data, the relationship between ground resistivity and water level is systematically analyzed. The influence of water changes in different horizons on ground resistivity has been given. It is considered that the relationship between atectonic water level changes and ground resistivity mainly depends on the water saturation of surface soil or rock. There is a clear correlation between the change of the water level, which related to the tectonic movements, and the change of the ground resistivity. Further more, the changes of water level and ground resistivity related to the precursor anomaly has been discussed in this paper.
