Abstract: Due to the electromagnetic interference, the geo-electrical resistivity observation data have the problems of low accuracy and low application efficiency. We could regard this observation as an unequal precision measurement and introduce the weight concept, then use the weighted average algorithm to calculate the daily mean value of geo-electrical resistivity. Compared with the arithmetic mean value, the weighted daily mean value significantly reduces the influence of electromagnetic interference, which can reflect more objective and real characteristics of geo-electrical resistivity. No matter what changes of observation conditions and electromagnetic environment, the weighted average algorithm can be used in calculating the daily mean value to provide scientific and reliable data for earthquake analysis and prediction.
