Abstract: Zhangjiakou earthquake occurred on May 25, 1997, is a remarkable one in the capital area during the first half of 1997. Although the magnitude is not too large, the short-term and imminent earthquake anomalies of ground fluids are quite remarkable. A prediction is successfully made before the earthquake. In this paper, some characteristics of short-term and imminent anomalies of ground fluids and some scientific enlightenment drown from the practice of prediction are presented.
