Abstract: Taking east china and adjacent area (29～39°N, 113～124°E) as the study region, based on the characteristics of seismic network distribution, this paper proposed a conceivable spatial distribution of moderately strong earthquakes, that is, the approximate parallelogram distribution cha racteristics. Using the intersection method of two parallelog rams, we can forecast the spatial region of the coming earthquakes, the area is less than 1. 5°× 1. 5°. We also have made retrospective tests of six ML ≥ 5. 0 earthquakes in East China and adjacent area since 1970, and proved the validity of the method.
