Abstract: On the basis of physical precursory segmentation, the mid-and short-term anomalies (one-year-long scale) of strong and moderately strong earthquakes are summed up in this paper. It is thought that the mid-and short-term anomaly of seismicity is characterized by showing mid-short-term quiescence (one year or so) beside the epicenter, as well as the mid-short-term gap.The developing process of mid-term stage as a whole characterizes the mid-and short-term precursory anomalies of multi-disciplines.Since different sized earthquakes show obvious difference to connotation of the seismogenic process in about one year or so,the mid-and short-term precursory characteristics of strong earthquakes (more than M S 7) and moderately strong earthquakes are studied and summarized respectively in this paper.
