Abstract: The variation characteristic of the load-unload responseratio with time before 12MS≥ 4. 2 earthquakes distributing in the South China area are studied by using the loadunload response ratio theory. There sult shows that before 8 of 12 earthquake case, obvious anomalous response ratio appeared high-value changes. There are 5-17 months from the moment of the maximum value to earthquake occurrence, we consider that the loadunload response ratio is a useful method to estimate the earthquake occurrence in the South China area.
