Discussion on spatio-temporal evolutionary characteristics of faulting activity in the middle-short period of strong earthquake

Abstract: Af ter the unstable sliding (stick-slip)of fault w as put fo rw ard as a mechanism of earthquakes, i t has been universally accepted.In this paper, the research results of the mechanism of earthquakes show the anomaly activity of fault are analyzed and briefly described.The spat io-temporal characteristics of anomaly activi ty of fault is given on the unstable sliding of fault in the middle-sho rt period of strong earthquakes, and the clear spatio-temporal evolutionary characteristics of anomaly activity of fault is raised in the middle-sho rt period of strong earthquakes f rom the view point of geodynamics.
