Abstract: Research on the medium-term sho rt term and imminent underground water anomalies in Sichuan-Yunnan and neighboring areas show s that the time-spatial diversio n is an effective method for sho rt-term and imminent tracing of seismicity. We may judge the stage of seismogenic process acco rding to the medium-term, short term and imminent variation of the number of anomalous wells, i.e.the number of anomalous wells decreases, increases, then decreases, and may use the phenomenon, i.e.whether there are time-space diversion of regional anomalies, to predict the strong earthquakes, and also may use the direction of time-space diversion to est imate the seismogenic region, use the ex tent of sho rt term and imminent timespace diversion to predict the occurrence time.
Key words: Anomaly of underg round water, Time-spatial diversion, Strong earthquake prediction
