Abstract: Co-seismic response of water level and temperature in Binchuan well to 4 earthquakes in Sumatra-Andaman has been analyzed and co-seismic forms all represented water level oscillation with temperature decrease and water level oscillation stop with temperature resumes. Further analyses indicate that amplitude of water level and temperature variation is concerned with epicentral distance and magnitude. Mechanisms of water level oscillation with temperature decrease and water level oscillation stop with temperature resume is discussed. Previous co-seismic mechanism is analyzed and quantitative simulation has been carried. Result shows that gas emission, heat dispersion and cold water seeping could lead water temperature decreased, and temperature resume mostly resulted in heat exchange between well water and wall rock.
