Abstract: This paper analyses the time-space seismicity pattern (MS≥7.5) in the great seismic triangle area of eastern Asia continent from 1902 to 2008. The results show that: ① during a period from 1902 to 1974, the main areas of earthquake grouping migration was along the boundary of the great seismic triangle area in a clock-wise direction, and after that time, earthquake activity entered inside the great seismic triangle area; ② for the whole seismic triangle area, earthquake process with time indicates an episodic characteristics of alternative activity and quiescence; ③ the migration pattern of grouping seismic activity in the seismic triangle area might be related to a mechanic mechanism, with mutual effects among seismic faults, stress transfer and coupling.

Key words: Great seismic triangle area of Eastern Asia Continent, Migration pattern of grouping seismic area, Episodic seismic activity
