Abstract: According to the IGRF11 model, the harmonic components from 7 to 13 of the main geomagnetic field are calculated and analyzed. The result shows that, the spatial gradient of the geomagnetic elements in F, H and I exhibit a significant spatial inhomogeneity. At the China Seismic Electormagnetic satellite (CSES) altitude and within a several decades meters space, the relative variation of the geomagnetic components is estimated. Moreover, the secular variation of the main geomagnetic field is very slow. During a period of 150 years, its maximum variation is about 6 nT. Hence there will be about 0.04 nT after a period of 5 years designed life of the CSES satellite.
