Abstract: Concentrations of soil gases Rn and CO2 were measured at 4 profiles in Jiangsu segment of Tanlu fault, the results show that the average concentrations of Rn observed at the four profiles are 22.9 kBq/m3, 35.5 kBq/m3, 40.2 kBq/m3 and 26.6 kBq/m3, and the average concentrations of CO2 are 0.669%, 0.400%, 0.503% and 1.109% respectively. The concentration of soil gases Rn and CO2 in the study area has a good consistency with the spatial distribution, which may be related to the fact that CO2 is the carrier gas of Rn. A comprehensive analysis of soil gases Rn, CO2 and the leveling data, indicated that the highest Rn concentration observed in Xiaodian section, which may be related to the adjustment of regional stress-strain. The results not only provide a reference for soil gas research, but also provide a reference of geochemical data for tectonic activities research in the study area.
