Abstract: Based on collecting and settling the characteristics of the Indonesia large earthquakes with M8.7 and M8.5, the feature of the teleseismically triggered seismicity in Yunnan region under influence of the two earthquakes is analyzed. Based on the digital waveform records of Kunming and Tengchong stations, the triggering feature of the two large earthquakes is analyzed. The seismicity remarkably enhanced after 2004 December 26 in Yunnan region is considered to be caused by the long period surface-wave triggered action of Indonesia M8.7 earthquake. There is no triggered seismicity in Yunnan region after the earthquake with M8.5. The main reason is that the faults could not accumulate enough energy to produce rupture in such short time after the relative seismicity is trigged by the earthquake with M8.7. The triggered areas are consistent with the high heat flow areas.
