Abstract: Summarized the main scientific and technological achievement of physical analysis and explanation of short-term strong earthquake precursory anomaly characteristics for the project supported by the MOST under contract. The major progress can be divided into 4 aspects, that is, analyzing typical characteristics of short-term strong earthquake precursors of geoelectricity, ground deformation and subsurface fluid by scanning a large number of station and network data and studying the earthquake cases. Putting forward experimental foundation and theoretical basis based on typical short-term precursory characteristics, conducting numerical simulation and theoretical explanation. Discussing the short-term seismic activity image feature and strong after-earthquake triggering mechanism through numerical simulation. Summarizing heat infrared anomaly evolution course of continental strong earthquakes, putting forward technical method for collecting the temperature field data inside and outside fault zones and earthquake surface temperature field data.
