Design for Web homepage of Center for analysis and Prediction of CSB

Abstract

Abstract: A systematic approach to design and implement the WWW of Local Area Network of the Technical Department, Center for Analysis and Prediction, CSB is described in this paper. It discusses the ideas of general design, the key techniques and the skill of implementation. As an example, the WWW of former computer networking center of the China Seismological Bureau (CSB) by the approach, where HTML and DHTML are employed as design languages, IBM F40 AIX 3.0 is employed as OS of Web server, NETSCAPE SUITE is employed as Web server, provided two services named HTTP and Dial Access. Other languages, such as JAVA and JavaScript, are applied to implement special functions that can be implemented by languages HTML and DHTML.
