Abstract: By using the instrument of synthetic numerical remote measurement, the seismic precursor observation station of Shantou city has conducted the observation of underground liquids for 16 months. The observational results show that the anomalies of gaseous Rn and Hg are quite remarkable and other observational items also show the obvious and concentrated changes. Particularly, the anomaly combinations guided by anomalies of gaseous Rn and Hg show close correlation with the seismic activity and stress changes occurred along NE-striking Nan’ao (Nanpeng)-Xiamen (Jinmen Port) fault and its adjacent region, which is preliminarily considered as short-term and imminent earthquake anomaly.
