RESEARCH OF WATER-LEVEL EARTHQUAKE WAVE CHARACTERISTICS IN TAIWAN STRAIT EARTHQUAKE WITH MS 7. 3

Abstract: The Taiwan Strait earthquake with MS 7. 3 was a marker one in our country for 1990s′ seismically active period. According to the data of water-level earthquake wave obtained from 81 w ells in our country, we analysed earthquake water-level vibration, water-level step change and the observation distance and so on. The results indicate that the main characteristics of this earthquake w ere ex pressed as high frequency and fast attenuation of water-levelvibration, great range of water-level step change and without best observation distance and others. The water-level earthquake wav e is rich in geophysical information and has practical significance for ex traction of information regarding earthquake prepara-tion and occurrence.
