Abstract: Based on seismic data recorded by the Xinjiang Digital Seismic Network, we calculated apparent stressses of three MS6.0 earthquake sequences occurred in 2011-2015. The results show that ① the apparent stresss of the major earthquake is higher than aftershock earthquakes, and there is positive correlation between apparent stresss and earthquake magnitude; ② in a short period of time after the main shock, apparent stress is higher in the sequence and strong aftershock occurred possibly due to stress adjustment after strong earthquake; ③ the apparent stress before strong aftershock earthquake is higher, and come back to low level after strong aftershock. We calculated apparent stresss of Aketao MS6.7 and Hutubi MS6.2 earthquake sequences, and the apparent stress of the MS6.7 earthquake at present is high, but the apparent stress of the MS6.2 earthquake is low. We compared the apparent stresses of five earthquake equences, and judged the seismic sequence type and maked aftershock predictions of the two earthquakes.
