Abstract: The Kezir earthquake swarm occurred on Sep. 23, 2005 was relocated with the double different earthquake location algorithm. The result shows that distribution of the earthquake and aftershocks is in a rectangle with long margin of 14.5 km and width margin of 9.0 km, and the direction of long axis is N30°W, it nearly parallel to the Kezir fault. The depth is distributed within 21 km, and the most are concentrated between 10~19 km, the average depth is 13.6 km; most of the small earthquakes occurred in the sedimentary cover, but the majority of earthquakes with bigger magnitude occurred in the upper crystalline crust. The earthquake swarm ruptures from crystalline crust to sedimentary cover along the N30°W direction. According to the characteristics of faults near the epicenter region and the distribution of historical earthquakes, two conjugate faults maybe exist in the Kezir reservoir region, and the right fault may be the causative fault of earthquake swarm.
