Seismo-Ionospheric Effects Prior to the 2021 Maduo, Qinghai MS7.4 Earthquake Based on the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite

摘要: 本次研究围绕张衡一号(ZH-1)卫星监测到的2021年青海玛多MS7.4地震前的电离层效应, 采用上下四分位距法和小波变换法处理ZH-1卫星朗缪尔探针(LAP)探测到的电子密度Ne和等离子体分析仪(PAP)探测到的离子密度Ni(He+和O+)数据, 经分析发现Ne、 He+密度和O+密度在震前7天(2021年5月14日)和5天(2021年5月16日)出现同步异常。 在此基础上, 基于地球物理异常多项证据, 分析认为2021年玛多MS7.4地震孕育过程包括应力扩张早期、 应力扩张晚期和临震加速期, 该地震可能通过岩石圈—大气圈—电离层耦合模型的声重波、 电磁波通道影响了电离层。

Abstract: In this paper, we focused on the characteristics of the seismo-ionospheric effects related to the 2021 MS7.4 earthquakes in Maduo, Qinghai, China, which were detected by the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite (ZH-1 satellite). By applying the sliding interquartile range method and the wavelet transform method to electron density (Ne) data acquired by the Langmuir probe (LAP) and ion density (Ni) data, including He+ and O+ data, acquired by the plasma analyzer package (PAP) onboard the ZH-1 satellite, synchronous anomalies of Ne, He+ and O+ were found under quiet geomagnetic conditions on 14 May and 16 May 2021—that is, 7 d and 5 d before the earthquakes, respectively. In addition, based on multiple evidence relating to earthquake precursor anomalies, we can divide that three preparation processes of the 2021 MS7.4 Maduo earthquake, including early period of stress expansion, late period of stress expansion and acceleration period of impending earthquake, and we can conclude that it is possible that this earthquake affected the ionosphere through the acoustic, and electromagnetic channels, as described by the Lithosphere-Atmosphere-Ionosphere Coupling (LAIC) model.
