Review of earthquake location with three dimensional earth model for digital seismic observation

Abstract: This paper summari zed the basic achievement sabout the earth st ructure from seismological study at present. A brief summary of main advances in seismic tomog raphy research with digital data was li sted as the follows: sensitivi ty analysis of inversion, the simultaneous solution for seismic velocities and earthquake hypocenters, nonlinear inv ersions and irregular parameterization techniques. Some specific ing redients of travel-time tomog raphy were discussed in details. Then the recent progress of earthquake location with global threedimensional earth model was reviewed.
