Abstract: Based on data from China’s FY-2E meteorological satellite and NCEP (National Centers for environmental prediction), the variations of long wave radiation and atmospheric temperature before and after the Yushu earthquake was calculated. Meanwhile, the features of various parameters were analyzed combined with temperature data of the Yushu well and the land surface temperature data. The results show that the values of parameters increase in some areas before the Yushu earthquake, and these areas are almost located in the south of the epicenter. At the same time, the sequence and physical property of each parameter is consistent. Moreover, it is confirmed that the heat generated by seismic tectonic movement passed from the depth to the land surface and then transmitted to the atmosphere.
