Abstract: Using thermal infrared Brightness temperature (TBB) and Outgoing long-wave radiation (OLR) data of China FY-2E meteorological satellite, the anomalies of thermal infrared radiation of the 2010 Nierong MS5.7 and MS5.5 Earthquakes in Tibet were studied. This study removed the cloud information of data based on threshold method, calculated the wavelet spectrum change of TBB and OLR based on the Morlet wave method and discussed the regularities and characteristics of its anomalous changes before and after the earthquakes. Obvious TBB and OLR anomalies appear before the Nierong earthquakes. Moreover, durations and locations of the anomalies are similar. However, the abnormal amplitude of TBB is higher than that of OLR. It is significant and valuable in the research of earthquake in this region using the thermal infrared remote sensing data.
