Abstract: Based on previous research results, the present-day crustal deformation and gravity field in mainland China are analyzed using the data of GPS, leveling, gravity and cross-fault deformation. We analyzed strain accumulation on the major faults, and identifed locked or high strain accumulation segments. Combining the effects of large earthquakes on the study area, the long-term (10 years) probability of large earthquakes in mainland China are estimated.
