Abstract: With 3-dimensional Boundary Integrate Equation (BIE), the influence characteristics of resistivity variation in the shallow part and the vicinity of poles on the observed apparent resistivity were studied in this paper. Research results show that, ① When the volume and change rate of soil in which the resistivity varied were the same, the influence on the observed apparent resistivity due to resistivity variation in the vicinity of potential poles is bigger than that in the vicinity of current poles. ② The influence due to resistivity decrease in the vicinity of every pole is clearly bigger than that of resistivity increase, generally speaking, the influence due to resistivity increase in the vicinity of poles can be neglected.
