Abstract: The earthquake damage to water supply pipeline is affected by the seismic motion and the site liquefaction, material and diameter of the pipes etc. Therefore, it is suitable to divide a pipeline into several segments or units, and then considering the influence of seismic motion and site liquefaction on the units respectively. Two earthquake damage assessment models have been developed. The unit damage acted by two factors and the damage of pipeline, which composed by series-wound units, can be estimated by synthetically probability method. In practice, the division of pipeline into units considering different affecting factors may be difficult manually. The automatic division and damage assessment can be easily done through spatial analysis under GIS environment.
In this paper, the assessment models of earthquake damage to both the unit of a pipeline and the pipeline composed by series-wound units are introduced. The basic functions, such as the management and query of pipelines and the environment data, damage assessment, map viewing, automatic segmentation of pipeline, the output of prediction results and so on, are also introduced.
