Abstract: The July 3, 2015 Pishan MS6.5 earthquake occurred in the intersection area of Tarim block and the western Kunlun where moderate-strong earthquakes has become more active in recent years. We studied seismicity parameters of the earthquake sequences such as b value in the Pishan region and its vicinity. In addition, we also relocated the aftershocks of the Pishan MS6.5 earthquake using the seismic phase reported by the double-difference method. We also analyzed temporal and spatial variation characteristics of the Pishan earthquake sequence in the rupture zone as a reference to the seismic hazard assessment.

Key words: The 2015 Pishan earthquake sequence, b value, Relocation, Temporal and spatial variation
