ANOMALY OF ANNUAL VARIATION RATE δF OF THE GEOM AGNETIC DIFFERENCE VALUE AND EARTHQUAKE PREDICTION IN THE CAPITAL CIRCLE AREA

Abstract

Abstract: This paper has studied the anomaly of annual variation rate of the geomagnetic difference value before two Tangshan moderately strong earthquakes, based on the comprehen-sive analysis of the data, observed from 40 stations in the Capital Circle Area from 1988~1996. The analytical result shows that it is a near-field precursor example for the earth-quakes with better seismomagnetic relation. This method is applied to annual judgement of earthquake trend for four years.
