A preliminary analysis on controlling action of seismic band network over far-f ield precursory anomalies of MS 5. 4 earthquake in Xiuyan, Liaoning province

Abstract: The earthquake with MS 5. 4 occurred on Novembes 29, 1999 in Xiuyan, Liaoning province. Before and after it, some precursory observations at Tianjin area, 500 km far from Xiuyan show the anomaly variation in the medium- and short -term and impending stages. This paper studied the controlling action of seismic band network over precursory anomalies occurred and distributed around the BohaiSea, combining the space- time characteristics of precursory anomalies in northern North China with the correlation between the space-time characteristics and seismic band network.
